Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers, align architecture with IT standards, and deliver enterprise solutions. You will mentor teams, develop prototypes, and contribute to design decisions while maintaining code quality.

The role requires a BS in CS or related field, 5 years of software development, 3 years in DB tech and SDLC, and strong Java, RPG, SQL, Angular skills with excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of software development experience.
• 3 years of experience with database technologies.
• 5 years of SDLC project experience.
• 3 years of experience in systems analysis, including defining technical requirements and performing high level design for complex solutions.
• Experience in RPG, Java, SQL, Angular and APIs design and implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides consultation on business requirements and functional specifications; supports the project lifecycle.
• Reviews development or modification of enterprise software solutions.
• 50/50 role: design/mentorship and hands-on delivery of code.
• Develops and validates complex software design prototypes; ensures adherence to standards.
• Leverages technical direction for development and integration of enterprise solutions.
• Ensures requirements, design, and test scripts are documented for enhancements.
• Mentors others and leads project teams through implementation and maintenance.
