Barclays is seeking a Lead Engineer – VP for its US Corporate expansion, located in Whippany, NJ. You will drive technical direction, deliver high-impact banking software, and collaborate with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to build scalable, secure platforms.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Java 11 or higher, Spring Boot, REST, API Security, JPA, Oracle, CI/CD Pipelines, Kafka/JMS/MQ, Angular, Junit/Mockito.
  • Experience with API Gateways, financial domains, and containers/cloud development.
  • Experience designing and building scalable, resilient backend systems using Java (Spring Boot).
  • Experience developing user interfaces with Angular; design and integrate RESTful APIs.
  • Ability applying Test-Driven Development (TDD), DevOps practices, Docker for containerization, and working with messaging middleware and databases to build scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.

To be successful as a Lead Engineer – VP, you should have:

  • Experience with Java 11 or higher, Spring Boot, REST, API Security, JPA, Oracle, CI/CD Pipelines, Kafka/JMS/MQ, Angular, Junit/Mockito

  • Experience with API Gateways, financial domains, and containers/cloud development

  • Experience designing and building scalable, resilient backend systems using Java (Spring Boot)

This role is located in our Whippany, NJ office.

Minimum Salary: $170,000

Maximum Salary: $230,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
