Columbia Hospitality is seeking a Lead Engineer for The SOMM Hotel & Spa in Woodinville, WA. You will oversee building systems, preventive maintenance, and safety, ensuring smooth operations of a luxury hotel environment.

Ideal candidates bring high school diploma, CPO safety certifications, and hotel maintenance experience; bilingual skills and weekend availability are a plus. This on-site role offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within our hospitality portfolio.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPO certification preferred for certification oversight.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the building’s physical, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ensure security, cleanliness, preventive maintenance, and safety of tools and equipment.
• Keep storerooms and workspaces clean and organized; store parts properly.
• Complete delegated work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• May work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What Success Looks Like:

Your Impact

• Maintains the building’s physical, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Ensures the security, cleanliness, preventive maintenance, and repair of all engineering department tools, equipment and safety features are in accordance with established procedures.
• Ensures all maintenance and engineering storerooms and workspaces are kept in a clean and orderly manner and storing all tools, equipment, and spare parts in proper location.
• Responsible for the proper treatment and care of tools and equipment used to perform tasks.
• Responsible to complete delegated work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• May work evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts.
• Provides open and effective lines of communication and addresses issues or concerns in a prompt and efficient manner.
• Reports and addresses unsafe conditions immediately.

What You Bring

• High school graduate or equivalent
• CPO certification, preferred
• HVAC, plumbing, electrical, OSHA 30, BOC certifications preferred
• Three-six months Hotel experience, preferred
• Must have knowledge and the ability to operate tools, hand tools in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ability to effectively perform patching, caulking, painting, or staining of a variety of surfaces.
• Ability to read temperature gauges, utility meters, etc.
• Must possess basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, and understanding units of measurement
• Ability to read, speak, and type English fluently
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
• Basic computer skills such as typing and email correspondence
• Bilingual Spanish/English, preferred
• Weekend availability required

Where you'll work:

In the new heart of Woodinville the beauty of the Pacific Northwest meets its newest destination, The SOMM Hotel and Spa. The SOMM is set to be the centerpiece of a 20-acre master-planned development in Woodinville, Washington.

The SOMM Hotel and Spa is a 164-room luxury hotel that will offer a blend of upscale accommodations and amenities. The project is part of Harvest, a town square-style development that will house nearly 100,000 square feet of restaurants, bars, wine-tasting rooms, and recreation. It also includes hundreds of apartments and townhouses, making it a comprehensive destination in its own right.

The hotel itself is designed to be a haven of comfort and indulgence. It features a signature restaurant, rooftop bar, 10,000 sq ft of meeting spaces, and a 5,661-square-foot spa. Additionally, there will be 9,000 square feet of retail space that will complement the hotel’s offerings. This retail section is expected to include wine-tasting rooms, restaurants, and other facilities.
