Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a professional to contribute to the design, development, and validation of complex products and systems. This role involves executing testing, building test facilities, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet quality and schedule targets.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree plus several years of manufacturing, laboratory, or testing experience, with a focus on problem solving, documentation, and project management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; high school diploma with 4 years experience allowed.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing, laboratory, or testing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Execute laboratory and field validation testing, inspection and data acquisition for design validation.
  • Lead or contribute to planning and execution with some autonomy within policy guidance.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders including Infrastructure and Sourcing for facility upgrades.
  • Define requirements for assembly and test efforts for new product lines; some off-site meeting support.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD security and export control requirements.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for execution of laboratory and field validation testing, inspection and data acquisition for use in the design and validation of products and services. Responsible for design and construction of test facilities, instrumentation systems and the development of test software
  • Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • In this role you will help define, implement and provide requirements needed for assembly and test efforts for multiple new product lines. This position will require off site meeting support periodically. Will work closely with Infrastructure and Sourcing teams on new construction and upgrades of existing facilities to meet future business demand. Will work closely with multiple stakeholders across various organizations to achieve short and long term business objectives, including management of Government Property.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing, laboratory, or testing experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing, laboratory, or testing experience
Additional Information
  • This position is available for internal movement only and is restricted to applications from employees currently within IMAT.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

  • Existing DoD security clearance
  • Previous experience working SAP Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
