Job summary

Jobtailor in Chattanooga, TN seeks a lead electrical engineer to head protection and control design projects from proposal to as-built. You will coordinate with Substation Physical Engineering and Relay Settings, developing protective relaying, SCADA, and related packages while guiding engineers and drafters.

Ideal candidates hold a BSEE, PE or plan for licensure, 7+ years in electrical engineering, and familiarity with AutoCAD/MicroStation; valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Civil engineering degrees may be considered.
MS Degree may be considered in lieu of BS Engineering degree.
Professional Engineer registration or plan to become registered is required.
Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of protection and control engineers, engineering technicians, and drafting technicians from project proposal through project as-built stage.
Coordinate with Substation Physical Engineering, Relay Settings, and other groups to ensure design concurrence.
Develop complete engineering design packages for protective relaying and communications systems, including diagrams, schematics, layouts, wiring and connection diagrams, equipment specifications, and bills of material
Develop SCADA packages, including input/output lists and Point Data Sheets
Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters, engineering technicians, and less experienced engineers
Develop, nurture, and maintain relationships with senior engineers, managers, executives, and current or prospective clients
Present technical solutions to key customers and respond to technical concerns and questions
Directly participate in client meetings and job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data
Perform or ensure QA/QC processes are followed on all design packages
Delegate, plan, prioritize, and review the work of other engineers

Seven or more years of electrical engineering experience desired
Experience in protection and control engineering required
Professional Engineer (PE) registration or plan to become registered requiredProfessional Engineering registration in the working state is a plus
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Bluebeam is a plus
Strong analytical and computer skills
