Job summary

Entegris in Billerica, MA is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to sustain and improve a key area of the Factory, with a focus on Liquid Filtration. This hands-on role involves working across floor to management, applying chemical, mechanical and controls engineering skills to drive stability and cost efficiency.

You’ll lead capital projects, develop processes, implement SPC/control plans, and collaborate with operations to deliver safe, quality manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering focusing on process improvement.
  • Strong problem solving and data analysis skills with SPC tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead yield, cost, quality and safety improvements for assigned line.
  • Use process knowledge to resolve internal and external issues.
  • Manage capital asset projects from planning to turnover.
  • Design and implement Preventative Maintenance for assets.
  • Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) with cross-functional teams.
  • Own SPC and control plans, driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Description:

Entegris is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer for our Billerica, MA facility.

The Role

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for sustaining and improving a given area of the Factory. The most pressing need is in the Liquid Filtration area of Manufacturing. This position is hands‑on in an environment where change occurs frequently and is very fast paced. You will interact with people from the factory floor up through the Management ranks and possibly Customers. The product and process flow require a broad set of Engineering skills touching on Mechanical, Chemical and (the controls part) of Electrical Engineering challenges. The workcell environment requires tight cooperation with other Operations functions to deliver results.

What You’ll Do:
  • Responsible for yield, cost, quality and safety for given line responsibility;
  • Uses technical knowledge of process and failure analysistechniques to help resolve internal and external Customer issues;
  • Asset implementation:
  • Works with workcell team members anddevelopment to identify needed capital equipment
  • Helps to design new and replacement assets for improving cost, quality and safety
  • Project management for capital, including acceptance/startup testing and turn over to Production
  • Design of Preventative Maintenance for assets and turning over to Process Mechanics
  • Will work on Product Development teams to help Design forManufacturing (DFM) and back integrate operational lessons learned;
  • Owning the Statistical Process Control of the line - including controlplans, control limits, out of control action plans (OCAP's) and process capability - will recommend and execute Continuous Improvement projectsand activities;
  • Responsible for effective and efficient documentation including operating and test protocols
  • Conduct Engineering presentations to both internal audience andCustomers as the need dictates;
  • Will assist in factory layout and design of workflow improvements.
What We Seek:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering;
  • Minimum offive to sevenyears related process engineering experience;
  • Understanding the general nature of controls strategy and implementation;
  • Experience in the use of Quality and SPC tools and associated data analysis;
  • Excellent Project Management and strong communication skills a must;
  • Knowledge of a broad range of software for data analysis and presentation. Minitab expertise is a strong plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated use of associated tools;
  • Ability to adapt changing responsibilities quickly based on business needs;
  • Knowledge of the semiconductor industry is a plus;
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification a plus;
  • CAD/SolidWorks experience a plus.
