Beehive is committed to growing and advancing the defense industrial base while manufacturing exclusively in the USA. This role can be remote.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer with expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) related to aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and deploy LLMs that enhance the performance, diagnostics, and overall development phase of jet engines used in uncrewed applications. This role requires deep knowledge of AI, natural language processing (NLP), and aerospace engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and fine-tune LLMs to optimize the jet engine development phase including performance assessments, analysis, and test.
  2. Integrate AI models within the Digital Engineering thread at Beehive Industries.
  3. Research, benchmark, and recommend machine learning models for internal use.
  4. Utilize natural language processing (NLP) through the development and testing phases of a program.
  5. Collaborate with aerospace engineers, data scientists, and software developers to deploy AI-driven solutions.
  6. Design and implement machine learning pipelines for processing aerospace data, creating models that interface with CFD, aerodynamic analysis, FEA, and CAD software, among others.
  7. Research and apply state-of-the-art AI/ML methodologies to improve propulsion systems, products, and development processes.
  8. Ensure model robustness, interpretability, and compliance with applicable regulations. Partner with the IT infrastructure team regarding security and deployment.
  9. Train AI systems to provide technical support to engineering teams, such as generating reports and creating feasibility studies.
Qualifications:
  1. Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  2. 6+ years of experience with Large Language Models (e.g., GPT, LLaMA, BERT) and NLP techniques.
  3. Proficiency in Python, Java, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other deep learning frameworks.
  4. Background in aerospace systems, jet engines, or related disciplines is highly desirable.
  5. Experience with high-performance computing, data engineering, and cloud-based ML deployment.
  6. Knowledge of reinforcement learning, time-series analysis, and physics-informed machine learning models.
  7. Experience with data security best practices and protecting company IP within AI systems.
  8. Ability to work in a cross-disciplinary environment with engineers and data scientists.
  9. Strong communication skills to teach others about AI and deploy solutions across the business.
  10. Experience working on programs for the Department of Defense.
