Job summary

Archer is seeking a Lead Engineer for Advanced Behaviors & Algorithms in Special Programs in San Jose, CA. The role focuses on designing and validating tactics and decision logic for prototype systems in contested environments.

You will lead rapid prototyping efforts from concept to hardware-in-the-loop validation, owning the advanced behaviors discipline and coordinating with other Archer teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience developing or validating mission-level behaviors for autonomous systems.
• Ability to work across disciplines in fast-paced environments.
• Familiarity with simulation environments and test validation approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and validation of advanced mission behaviors and tactics for prototype vehicles.
• Support rapid prototyping from concept behaviors to hardware-in-the-loop tests.
• Own the advanced behaviors discipline within Special Programs with defined standards.
• Assess feasibility of new opportunities and required approaches.
• Collaborate across Archer engineering teams to align approaches with timelines.
• Produce technical documentation and analysis packages for reviews.
• Present work in internal reviews and with government stakeholders.
