Lead .Net Engineer | Birmingham, Alabama | Hybrid | Financial Services

We’re working with a a fast growing business based in Birmingham, Alabama that is scaling its engineering capability and has a Lead Engineer role with fast and real progression opportunities to Director. This could be suitable for any candidates from Senior .NET Developer to Engineering Director.

This is a hands‑on development role to start, before becoming more leadership focussed over time. You’ll be working across backend services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure, helping to shape a modern, scalable platform built in Microsoft Azure.

What you’ll be doing

• Build and maintain backend services using .NET and C#
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices
• Work within a Microsoft Azure cloud environment
• Support cloud‑native application design and deployment
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver new features
• Contribute to code quality, testing, and continuous improvement practices

What we’re looking for

• Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET development
• Experience building APIs and distributed systems
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure services and cloud architecture
• Familiarity with SQL databases and data integration concepts
• Leadership experience, managing software engineers
• Ability to mentor engineer, contribute to architectural discussions and help define the product roudmap.

Nice to have

• Exposure to containerisation such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Understanding of observability and monitoring practices
