Job summary

RoboForce, an AI robotics company in Milpitas, seeks a Lead AI Research Engineer, Embodied Systems to own the full embodied systems stack on real robots. You will drive onboard AI, data collection, teleoperation, and on‑robot reinforcement learning, coordinating closely with robotics software and ML research teams.

You will define the architecture, ensure real‑time operation in demanding industrial environments, and mentor engineers to raise the bar for embodied systems work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS, Robotics, EE, or PhD with relevant experience.
• Proven track record leading complex robotic/embodied systems end‑to‑end.
• Strong C++ and Python, with real‑time, performance‑critical engineering skills.
• Hands‑on ROS/ROS2 and robot middleware integration.
• Experience deploying ML models in real‑time robotic systems.

Responsibilities

• Own embodied systems stack including onboard AI, data collection, teleoperation, and on‑robot RL.
• Set the technical direction and architecture for running and evaluating models on real robots.
• Deliver end‑to‑end systems on physical robots with reliable real‑time performance.
• Own deployment and closed‑loop evaluation of policies for real-world improvements.
• Collaborate with robotics software and ML research teams to align interfaces and priorities across the stack.
