Job summary

General Atomics is seeking a software engineer to develop user interface software for control systems. The role involves leading a software team, planning engineering projects, and performing complex engineering tasks with independent judgment.

Candidates should have strong C#/.NET experience, WPF/XAML skills, and familiarity with MVVM. DoD clearance may be required; the position is full-time and based in San Diego, CA.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or related field with progressive engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering concepts and coding with C# and .NET.
• Experience with UI design, WPF/XAML, and MVVM recommended.
• Ability to work independently and on a team with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Leads a software team to ensure timely completion of development activities.
• Plans engineering projects and develops innovative designs to meet project goals.
• Independently performs difficult/complex engineering work with instructions as to the general expected results.
• Performs functional testing of software and control systems by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.
• Applies technical knowledge to train others in how to analyze, investigate and resolve engineering problems.
• Supports operation of engineering systems, develops appropriate documentation of findings, implements solutions, and communicates results to project leadership which may include technical presentations to a wider audience.
• Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the company.
• Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
