Job summary

Radiant, an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first portable nuclear microreactors, seeks a Senior Manager of Embedded Engineering to lead the embedded software team through the critical path to commercialization, planning and executing the embedded software architecture for I&C systems with a direct line to Kaleidos' 2028 deployment target.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of embedded software experience with system-level architecture decisions, RTOS experience, and low-level programming.
• 3+ years of engineering management experience including hiring, performance management, and team development.
• Deep proficiency in embedded C/C++ and ability to translate strategy into execution.
• Strong communication to explain technical work to non-technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Build, grow, and manage a team of embedded engineers, owning hiring, performance, career development, and culture.
• Partner with embedded leads on software architecture decisions, testing frameworks, validation methodology, documentation standards, and safety requirements.
• Manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships with electrical, controls, hardware, and executive leadership; align on priorities and interfaces.
• Own program execution across the embedded engineering lifecycle, setting expectations and managing delivery milestones from architecture to field implementation.
