Job summary

2G Engineering in Sun Prairie, WI seeks a Senior Embedded Systems Programmer to lead embedded software for subsea controllers, power systems, and sensors. You will drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and coordinate cross-functional activities.

Responsibilities include firmware leadership in C, system-level design, and ensuring product reliability through verification and validation plans, with strong emphasis on hardware-software integration.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree or equivalent in EE, CS, physics or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on embedded programming including C.
• Knowledge of microprocessors, ICs, diagnostics, hardware/software fundamentals.
• Experience owning or maintaining a product line and lifecycle.
• Proven experience leading technical tasks or features.

Responsibilities

• Lead firmware development in C, architecture and validation.
• Mentor engineers in debugging and root-cause analysis.
• Provide technical direction for PCB design and schematics.
• Define system requirements with engineers and stakeholders.
• Own design efforts including specs, calculations, and costs.
• Prepare engineering reports and documentation.
• Ensure product quality with verification strategies and tests.
• Lead data collection for performance evaluation.
• Maintain and evolve product lines with improvements and compatibility.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve processes.
