Cowboy Space Corporation in San Carlos, CA is seeking an Embedded Software Engineering Lead to guide the embedded software team for satellite control and power beaming systems. You will ensure fault-tolerant, real-time software across flight, ground, and control domains.

The role requires leading a team with 5+ years in embedded aerospace engineering, strong C/C++/Rust skills, and experience with hardware interfaces. On-site in San Carlos, CA with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or related field.
• 5+ years as embedded software engineer in aerospace or satellite.
• 2+ years leading an embedded software team.
• Proficiency in C, C++, or Rust for embedded systems.
• Experience with SPI, I2C, UART and LVDS; Linux-based embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead embedded software team developing flight-critical and avionics systems.
• Plan firmware releases, manage sprints, and update stakeholders.
• Design fault-tolerant, high-performance flight software.
• Develop real-time embedded software for onboard control and data processing.
• Coordinate hardware integration with spacecraft avionics and sensors.
• Build SITL and HITL environments for validation.
