We are partnering with a well-funded ($300M+ Series B), stealth-growth AI silicon startup in Silicon Valley founded by industry veterans from Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, and top semiconductor powerhouses.
They are pioneering ultra-low-power AI SoCs designed to power the next generation of Physical AI, robotics, drones, and autonomous edge devices. As an early key software leader, you will own the entire customer-facing SDK from eval kit unboxing to production robotics workloads, while building and mentoring a world-class embedded software team.
What You'll Do
- Architect & Own the SDK: Define the end-to-end SDK and public C/C++ and Python API architecture that tier-1 customers will use to deploy models onto proprietary AI SoCs.
- Bridge Low-Level Hardware to High-Level AI: Coordinate data flow through the entire SoC pipeline - integrating NPU inference engines, camera/ISP pipelines, DSPs, and CPUs.
- Optimize Developer Experience: Build clean reference applications, camera/video pipelines, and integration layers for popular AI and robotics frameworks (PyTorch, TFLite, ONNX, ROS 2, OpenCV, GStreamer).
- Lead & Scale the Team: Hire, mentor, and direct a team of embedded SDK engineers, with expanding scope into broader robotics and edge software domains.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Collaborate directly with Kernel Driver, Hardware, System Architecture, and Runtime teams to establish production-grade API standards and release cycles.
Who You Are
- 8+ Years of Embedded Systems Experience: Deep expertise in C, C++, and Python development on Embedded Linux (cross-compilers, BSPs, system-level architecture).
- Shipped Real Silicon SDKs: You have architected and shipped customer-facing SDKs or APIs that run directly on an SoC, AI accelerator, camera, or multimedia silicon target. (Note: Pure cloud, web, or backend SDK experience will not be a fit for this role).
- Multimedia & Vision Pipeline Knowledge: Hands-on experience with camera/ISP drivers, video streaming frameworks (GStreamer, FFmpeg), or computer vision pipelines on embedded hardware.
- Technical Leadership: Proven background leading engineering teams, owning architectural decisions, and mentoring senior talent.
Bonus Points For
- Direct experience at edge AI chipmakers, camera platform companies, or robotics platforms.
- Hands-on work with AI accelerator runtime systems, ONNX Runtime, TensorRT, or ROS 2 frameworks.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
