Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, and validate embedded edge software and cloud/AI-enabled components across multimedia, AI/GenAI, and camera/vision subsystems.

You will collaborate with hardware, architecture, and test teams to deliver high-performance software for next-generation IoT devices. The role involves leading development of multimedia and GenAI SDKs, contributing to GStreamer plugins, and ensuring end-to-end quality with rigorous testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 3+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in the design, development, implementation, and validation of embedded edge software, applications, and specialized utility programs.
• Lead the architecture and development of multimedia, AI, and GenAI SDKs, driving execution across engineering teams.
• Own the design and development of GStreamer-based SDK plugins for Qualcomm hardware platforms.
• Define and deliver software features across diverse categories of IoT products and systems.
• Drive feature design, implementation, unit testing, debugging, and integration to ensure high-quality delivery on schedule.
• Lead code reviews, regression testing, and issue triage efforts to maintain strong engineering standards and product quality.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and project team members to align technical execution with program objectives.
• Author and review technical documentation for software components and features to support development, integration, and long-term maintainability.
