Job summary

Carney, Sandoe & Associates is seeking a Lead Elementary School Teacher for an independent school in San Francisco. The role focuses on hands‑on, integrated learning, and nurturing a growth‑minded classroom community.

You will collaborate with grade‑level teams to plan an integrated program across literacy, writing, math, science, social studies, and social emotional learning, while supervising students and maintaining professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Elementary Education or related degree required.
  • Master's degree (preferred).
  • 2 years of teaching experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; credibility and ethical conduct.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills; ability to write and format professional correspondence, memos, and support documentation.
  • Mature judgment and discretion; ability to maintain confidentiality and composure under pressure working with sensitive or confidential information.
  • Consistent and prompt attendance; conscientious about timeliness of assignments and the quality of work product.
  • U.S. Work Authorization required.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on and integrated learning experience; early childhood development and literacy.
  • Strong pedagogical background; collaborate with colleagues for early elementary students.
  • Create a joyful, nurturing classroom that grows curiosity with clear classroom management.
  • Plan and teach an integrated early elementary program across literacy, writing, math, science, social studies, and SEL.
  • Supervise children in the classroom, during recesses and dismissal, and on field trips.
