Job description

About Us and Why We’re Hiring

At Terra Energy, we’re building one of the most reliable and scalable residential solar operations in the U.S.
Through our installation partner NSI (National Solar Installations), we’re expanding our field teams in Florida to support a strong and growing pipeline of projects through 2030.
We’re looking for a Lead Electrician who can take ownership in the field—someone who not only understands solar electrical systems, but can lead installations, ensure quality, and keep projects moving efficiently.
If you’re experienced, hands-on, and take pride in doing things the right way, this role is for you.

The Role

This is a field-based, hands-on leadership role focused on residential solar installations.
You’ll be responsible for the electrical scope of projects, ensuring systems are installed safely, correctly, and in compliance with all codes and standards.
You’ll also work closely with installers and helpers, guiding execution on-site and ensuring high-quality delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading Electrical Installations
You’ll handle the electrical side of residential solar projects, ensuring all systems are installed according to code and design specifications.
Ensuring Quality & Compliance
You’ll verify wiring, grounding, and system integrity, ensuring everything is safe, compliant, and ready for inspection.
Team Coordination
You’ll work alongside installers and helpers, providing guidance and ensuring efficient execution on-site.
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
You’ll identify and resolve issues in the field to keep projects moving without delays.

What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in solar installations (required)
  • Experience in residential solar electrical work
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and safety standards
  • Ability to read plans and schematics
  • Hands-on, reliable, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working in field environments
Important to Know
  • Location: Florida (must be local)
  • This is a field-based role
  • Compensation is performance-based (details shared during interview process)
  • Candidates must meet minimum experience requirements to be considered
How You’ll Work at NSI

NSI is a primary installer for Terra Energy in Florida, supporting a growing, subscription-based solar model with a strong pipeline of installations projected through 2030. As part of this ecosystem, our work is fast-paced, hands-on, and directly tied to real project delivery.

We’re a field-driven, execution-focused team—so things won’t always be perfectly structured. But that’s where the opportunity is. You’ll have real ownership, direct access to leadership, and the ability to make a tangible impact on operations and results.

At NSI, we value people who are pragmatic, resourceful, and solutions-oriented. That means getting the job done, adapting quickly, and continuously improving how we operate in the field. Success here comes from staying focused on outcomes, working collaboratively, and taking initiative in a growing environment.

Compensation & Details
  • Salary: Paid per watt installed (performance-based compensation tied to production)
  • Location: Florida, United States
  • Reports to: Construction Manager
  • Department: Operations
What Success Looks Like
  • Safe, code-compliant electrical installations completed consistently and efficiently
  • Systems installed correctly the first time, minimizing rework and delays
  • Strong coordination with crew members, site supervisors, and project managers
  • Jobs completed on schedule, meeting daily/weekly installation targets
  • Clean, organized worksites and proper handling of tools and materials
  • Accurate reporting of completed work, issues, and progress (Teamwork or similar tools)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in the field quickly
  • Consistent adherence to safety standards and company procedures
In Summary

This role is for someone who enjoys hands-on work, not just following instructions.

If you take pride in building things the right way, working in the field, and seeing the direct impact of your work on every installation—this is that kind of opportunity.
