Job summary

Duquesne Light Company in Pittsburgh is seeking an Electrician 1/C to perform highly skilled electrical work in building facilities, direct a crew, and handle construction, alteration, and repair tasks.

Requires a high school diploma, two-year technical certificate, 3+ years of commercial electrical experience, NEC knowledge, ability to read plans, and a CDL; we offer competitive wages starting at $40.91/hour and full-time employment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with two-year technical certificate in electrical trades.
Three or more years of commercial electrical experience.
Must pass company administered CAST aptitude test.
Strong knowledge of NEC and local codes pertaining to the craft.
Ability to read plans and drawings.
CDL valid within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

Lays out work and directs the work of an assigned crew, ensuring safety and schedules.
Installs, alters, and repairs all types of building wiring including conduit, knob & tube, moulding, power and lighting.
Bends, cuts, threads, and assembles conduit ½ to 4 inches; connects conduit and boxes.
Installs, repairs, and maintains switch panels, relays, breakers, timers, and related equipment.
Inspects wiring and electrical equipment for faults and maintenance needs; conducts tests.
Performs operational tests on service equipment and ensures safety procedures.
