Job summary

Aerotek is hiring a Lead Electrician to oversee commercial electrical installations, thermostat controls, and access control systems. You will lead projects, mentor a dedicated Electrical Helper, and travel across Louisville, Lexington, and Northern Kentucky to deliver high-quality work on a cycle of 2–4 day projects.

The role includes owning the on-site leadership, ensuring safety and code compliance, and coordinating with customers and project managers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial electrical experience preferred.
• Experience leading crews or working as a foreman/lead electrician.
• Knowledge of thermostat controls, low-voltage systems, and access controls is highly preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to travel throughout Louisville, Lexington, and Northern Kentucky as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial electrical installation projects from start to finish.

• Install and configure thermostat control systems and access control equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
• Coordinate daily work activities with your assigned Electrical Helper.

• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment.

About the Opportunity

We are hiring a Lead Electrician to join a growing electrical contractor specializing in commercial electrical installations, thermostat controls, and access control systems . This is a role for someone who enjoys running projects, mentoring others, and delivering high-quality work on commercial job sites.

You'll be provided a company truck and trailer and will be paired with a dedicated Electrical Helper to assist with installations and daily project tasks. Most projects will be 2-4 days and will move to the next project since it is specialized work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Shepherdsville, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $30.00/hr.
