Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT seeks an Electrical Systems Engineer to lead cableway and electrical infrastructure efforts for the VIRGINIA Class SSN 812 program. You will coordinate with system engineering, program offices, and design teams to ensure compliant, efficient layouts and routing.

Required are a BS in Engineering and 2–5 years of post-graduate experience; Secret DoD clearance eligibility is expected. Occasional travel may be necessary as projects progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required.
• 2-5 years post-graduate engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead coordination between system engineering, major area team leaders, program office, design and engineering, and leadership.
• Lead coordination between multi-system engineering groups and arrangements design.
• Perform non-standard cableway hanger stress analysis and cableway hanger fatigue analysis.
• Perform relative movement calculations, concepts, arrangement validation, cableway development, and cable routing development.
• Support ship arrangement approvals with the government.
• Candidate must be organized and able to manage relationship between ship requirements and arrangement compliance.
• Responsible for cost and schedule performance of assigned tasks.
• Responsible for managing multiple projects and/or assigned tasks.
• Responsible for developing and presenting task information/status as the design progresses.
• Review and approve drawings ensuring technical compliance to contractual requirements.
