Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Palm Bay, Florida, seeks a Lead, Electrical Engineer to design power supply circuits for data acquisition and computing systems. Responsibilities include specs generation, component selection, power architecture, simulation, layout support, and verification testing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop isolated and non-isolated power conversion topologies including AC/DC converters, DC/DC converters, battery chargers and power management circuits.
  • Perform requirements analysis and translate system needs into detailed power architecture and circuit designs
  • Conduct component selection and design trade studies for power semiconductors, magnetics, ICs, filters, and protection circuitry
  • Simulate and analyze power circuits for efficiency, thermal performance, control loop stability, EMI/EMC, and transient response
  • Develop schematics, support PCB layout, and ensure good design practices for high-current, high-voltage, and low-noise applications
  • Create and execute test plans for prototype bring-up, characterization, verification, and qualification
  • Troubleshoot power supply performance issues in the lab and support root cause and corrective action activities
  • Support compliance efforts related to safety, EMI/EMC, environmental, and reliability requirements
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to support production release, yield improvements, and failure analysis
  • Prepare technical documentation including design reports, analysis summaries, test procedures, and released engineering data
  • Support design reviews and provide technical leadership in power electronics development
  • Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance.

Job Description:

L3Harris in Palm Bay, Florida currently has an opening for a Power Supply Design Engineer. In this role, you will develop Power Supply circuits for data acquisition and computing systems. Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance a plus
  • BSEE, Computer Engineering or other related technical field of study.
  • Knowledge of Miliary Standards including 461, 704 and 1275.
  • Hardware debugging skills & experience in operation of Signal Generator, Logic Analyzer, Digital Oscilloscopes
  • Ability to lead engineering design teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to interact with a cross functional team
  • Ability to collaborate across all levels of leadership.
