Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to lead a team of Auxiliary Electrical Engineers supporting Grid Technologies projects, including HVDC, FACTS, Synchronous Condensers, STATCOMs, and e-STATCOMs. You will ensure technical compliance, cost performance, and timely delivery of engineering documents throughout the project lifecycle.

You will mentor engineers, drive technical excellence, and contribute to proposals, R&D initiatives, and continuous improvement across the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 10+ years of Electrical Engineering experience with Power Systems.
  • P.E. license preferred; willingness to obtain state licensure as needed.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills with ability to mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, specification, selection, and technical execution of auxiliary electrical equipment for Grid Technologies projects.
  • Manage the complete engineering lifecycle: proposal support, detailed engineering, FAT, commissioning, and startup.

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will lead a team of Auxiliary Electrical Engineers supporting Grid Technologies projects, including HVDC, FACTS, Synchronous Condensers, STATCOMs, and e-STATCOMs. You will be responsible for ensuring technical compliance, cost performance, and the timely delivery of engineering documents throughout the project lifecycle. In addition to project execution, you will support proposals, research and development initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts while mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across the team. You will collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and reliable power system solutions.


How You'll Make An Impact


  • Lead the design, specification, selection, and technical execution of auxiliary electrical equipment and systems for Grid Technologies projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards.

  • Manage the complete engineering lifecycle, including proposal support, detailed engineering, supplier evaluation, design reviews, factory acceptance testing (FAT), commissioning support, and plant startup activities.

  • Develop technical specifications, engineering documentation, and standardized processes while driving quality, consistency, innovation, and continuous improvement across projects.

  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, architect/engineers, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and ensure successful project execution.

  • Mentor and develop engineering team members by providing technical leadership, reviewing engineering deliverables, and promoting engineering best practices.

  • Drive research and development initiatives, equipment standardization, and cost optimization opportunities to improve project execution and business performance.


What You Bring


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Power Systems, including at least 5 years of experience leading engineering teams or projects.

  • Strong knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, and NEC codes and standards.

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred; willingness to obtain additional state licensure as required by project needs.

  • Effective leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to mentor and develop engineering talent.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
