Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA in Berkeley, CA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead electrical architecture and cost optimization across battery and energy storage products. You translate system requirements into architectures and verification plans while guiding distributed engineering teams.

You will collaborate with mechanical, systems, manufacturing, supply-chain, and validation groups to ensure release-quality documentation and successful design reviews.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in electrical or electromechanical product‑development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Experience with electrical architecture, sensors, harness interfaces, BOM optimization, and design reviews.
• Ability to lead technical decisions and mentor engineers across locations.
• Strong knowledge of sensors, switches, heaters, pumps, DC/DC converters, power distribution, and harness interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Own technical direction and design reviews for the electrical workstream.

• Lead lower-cost alternative selection for switches, sensors, and electrical isolation components.
• Assess impacts to PCBA interfaces, controls, diagnostics, harnesses, BOMs, and system performance.
• Coordinate with mechanical, systems, manufacturing, supply-chain, and validation teams.
• Review nearshore deliverables and ensure release-quality documentation.

Salary: $170-190k annually

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience with electrical architecture, sensors, harness interfaces, BOM optimization, and design reviews.
• Ability to lead technical decisions and mentor engineers across locations.
• Strong knowledge of sensors, switches, heaters, pumps, DC/DC converters, power‑distribution, and harness interfaces

Salary Range

• $170,000 - 190,000
• The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job‑related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
