Job summary

CPL in Buffalo, NY is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead moderate to complex projects from planning through design for industrial, commercial, and municipal work. You will work with licensed engineers or project managers and independently drive quality design solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 5+ years of design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit or OpenRoads, and strong ability to read construction plans and specs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five (5) years of engineering design experience in civil, municipal, or related infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, and/or OpenRoads, along with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documentation and apply them to project design and execution.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical engineering plans, drawings, models, and construction documents using AutoCAD for industrial, commercial, and municipal projects.
• Perform electrical system design and analysis, including load calculations, power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, tele/data, public address, and other low-voltage systems.
• Size and select electrical equipment, panelboards, generators, transfer switches, and related components while coordinating with vendors and utility providers.
• Collaborate with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated project solutions and evaluate system alternatives.
• Support project execution through site observations, construction coordination, preparation of visual aids, maps, reports, and technical documentation, while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards and codes.
