Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
Five or more years of experience in electrical applications engineering.
Knowledge of refrigeration systems.
Willingness to travel up to 20% for factory and site visits.

Responsibilities

Provide pre-sale electrical engineering support to internal and external customers.
Develop and review electrical system designs for HVAC chiller applications.
Create power distribution layouts, one-line diagrams and control schematics.
Ensure NEC and UL compliance for electrical designs and equipment interfaces.
Perform wire sizing, ampacity, short circuit analysis and component sizing.
Support motor control systems including VFDs and soft starters.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to ensure accurate execution.
Evaluate project specs and propose customized electrical solutions.
Troubleshoot field issues and assist with commissioning and regulatory questions.
Provide guidance on power quality, grounding, harmonics, and protection strategies.
Develop technical documentation and application tools; deliver training to teams.

This role is critical in deliveringelectrically compliant, high-performance solutionsfor commercial and mission-critical environments, including data centers.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in electrical systems, power distribution, and electrical code complianceand will serve as a key technical partner to sales, engineering, and product teams. This position plays a vital role in translating customer requirements into robust, safe, and optimized electrical designs.

This position is onsite at our Advanced Development and Engineering Center in New Freedom, PA. An alternative location is San Antonio, TX. Candidates should be commuting distance to either of these facilities, or open to relocation. Various relocation packages are available.

How you will do it

Providepre-sale electrical engineering supportto internal sales teams and external customers

Developand reviewelectrical system designsfor HVAC chiller applications, including:

One-line diagrams and control schematics

Equipment interface and integration

Applyand interpretNEC, UL, and applicable regulatory codesto ensure compliant solutions

Performdetailed engineering calculations, including:

Wire sizing and ampacity

Overcurrent protection and short circuit analysis

Electrical component sizing (breakers, fuses, transformers, contactors)

Supportapplication ofmotor control systems, including VFDs, soft starters, and across-the-line starters

Collaboratewithproduct engineering, contract engineering, and manufacturing teamsto ensure accurate execution of electrical designs

Evaluateproject specifications and proposecustomized electrical solutionsto meet customer requirements

Troubleshootand resolvefield electrical issues, commissioning challenges, and compliance questions

Provideexpertise onpower quality, grounding, harmonics, and system protection strategies

Developand maintaintechnical documentation, standards, and application tools

Delivertraining and technical guidanceto internal teams and field personnel

Interfacewith suppliers to supportelectrical component selection and cost estimation

Participateinproduct development initiativeswith a focus on electrical architecture and compliance

What you will need

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

5+years ofexperience.

Knowledge of refrigeration systems.

Able to travel up to 20% for factory visits, customer site visits and field visits related to training.

Preferred

Commercial HVAC industry experience.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $90,000 - $125,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.)
