Penn State's Applied Research Laboratory seeks experienced Electric Propulsion and Power Systems (EPPS) Engineers to join the EPCS Department in USO. The role involves leading projects on electric/hybrid propulsion and power systems for undersea vehicles, including design, integration, and testing of high‑power propulsion motors and controllers.

Travel to remote sites and on‑site work in State College, PA are required.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science with 14+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with motor control algorithms and PMSM/induction motors.
• Hands-on with high/low voltage power conversion and hardware integration.

• Provide project management leadership for one or more projects.
• Lead full life cycle design of electric/hybrid propulsion systems.
• Guide system requirements identification, flow-down, and functional allocation.
• Manage design reviews and test reports.
