Job summary

Saint Luke’s Community Hospital at Roeland Park seeks an Emergency Department Registered Nurse to perform ongoing assessments and provide direct patient care across varying acuity levels. This is a full-time night-shift position (12-hour shifts).

Prior ED RN experience is preferred. You will work alongside ER providers, receive on-site lab training, and collaborate with paramedics in a smaller community hospital setting, spending more time with patients.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of nursing experience.
• Registered Nurse (KS) with NURSYS license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ability to manage care within the established standards of nursing care and practice as defined by the state.
• Appropriately triage patient and prioritize needs, displaying a caring and responsive attitude.
• Initiate care to stabilize patient and assist in managing life support needs by collaborating with physician and clinical staff, demonstrating appropriate admission, discharge and transfer procedures.
• Collect detailed patient history and symptoms, including vital signs, providing appropriate care in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established polices and procedures.
• Report adverse treatments or medications in accordance with current policies and procedures.
• Participates in QAPI activities including accreditation preparation and survey process, and maintenance of accreditation, state, and CMS standards
