Job summary

Over the Rainbow Learning Center is hiring a Lead Teacher for the Early Childhood Program in a structured, play-based setting serving ages 6 weeks to 5 years. You will own your classroom, lead with intention, and collaborate with families and staff to support holistic child development.

You will implement CTELDS-aligned curriculum, plan weekly lessons on time, supervise safely, and maintain organized learning spaces. Strong communication and reliability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a group setting (required).
• CTELDS-aligned play-based program experience (preferred).
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to pass CT background check and health screening.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
• Implement a play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with CTELDS.
• Plan and execute weekly lesson plans submitted on time.
• Maintain active supervision and adhere to child safety protocols.
• Build strong, professional relationships with families and coworkers.
• Manage routines, transitions, and behavior with consistency and professionalism.
• Observe, assess, and document children's development and progress.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked classroom environment.
• Use Brightwheel for communication, documentation, and family engagement.
• Follow health, safety, licensing, and sanitation procedures.
