Job summary

Goodwill Industries Group is seeking a Lead Early Childhood Educator to oversee Kids Excel staff and child safety using HighScope curriculum at the Excel Center in Elkhart, IN. You will monitor learning activities, guide staff, and coordinate with life coaches and teachers.

You will maintain attendance records, communicate with parents, and develop engaging lessons, while ensuring compliance with policies. Travel may be required for site meetings and training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a leadership role in childcare setting.
• Course work/training in early childhood development.
• Child/infant CPR and first aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Annual TB screen required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Google Apps, Excel and web browsers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-building, organizational, supervisory and customer service abilities.
• Flexible, energetic, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task and resolve conflicts among staff and children.
• Ability to engage with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Create lesson plans and schedules using HighScope curriculum.
• Track attendance, snacks, budgets, ages and families served.
• Communicate with Excel Center staff including life coaches and directors.
• Maintain inventory of supplies for Kids Excel.
• Inform parents about services, enrollment, scheduling and events.
• Coach parents on learning opportunities at home.
• Lead monthly parent meetings on family topics.
• Lead and assist early childhood team with assessments and conferences.
• Provide access to training manuals and best practices for staff.
• Support performance evaluations and weekly team meetings.
