Job summary

LHi Group Ltd in Hopkinsville, KY is seeking a Senior Production Engineer Specialist to own E-Coat/ED coating and pretreatment processes. You will manage bath chemistry, optimize coating performance, and lead troubleshooting across a 11–12 stage wet-process system.

The role requires hands-on production experience, strong problem-solving skills, and collaboration across Production, Quality, Maintenance, Environmental, and Engineering teams. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• 5 years of E-Coat/ED coating or related process experience preferred; 2–3 years of highly relevant experience will also be considered.
• Strong knowledge of paint chemistry, bath management, surface preparation, and corrosion protection.
• Ability to diagnose coating defects and process abnormalities using chemistry, lab results, and process data.
• Hands-on manufacturing experience with process ownership and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with wastewater treatment and environmental compliance is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize E-Coat/ED coating, pretreatment, rinse, and associated chemical processes, controlling parameters such as pH, conductivity, bath solids, chemical concentration, temperature, voltage, pressure, and flow.
• Manage bath chemistry, titration results, chemical additions, replenishment, filtration, and preventive bath maintenance, partnering with suppliers.
• Diagnose coating-quality issues including adhesion failures, poor coverage, thickness variation, contamination, blisters, craters, runs/sags, appearance issues, and corrosion failures.
• Analyze laboratory, process, production, and equipment data to identify abnormalities, determine root cause, and lead corrective actions using PDCA/A3.
• Develop standardized work instructions, control plans, and troubleshooting procedures, while coaching technicians.
• Support wastewater treatment, environmental compliance, equipment reliability, and process trials.
