Role Description

The Lead Ductless / Heat Pump Installer is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY. This role is responsible for leading the installation of ductless mini split and heat pump systems, including site assessment, equipment placement, line set routing, electrical connections, system startup, and basic programming. Day-to-day tasks include supervising installation crews, ensuring work is completed to code and manufacturer specifications, performing quality checks, troubleshooting installation issues, and maintaining a clean and safe job site. The Lead Installer communicates with clients on-site, explains system operation and basic maintenance, and coordinates with office staff regarding schedules, materials, and project updates. This role also supports training of junior technicians and promotes best practices in safety, workmanship, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Strong technical skills in ductless mini split and heat pump installation, including refrigerant piping, electrical connections, and system commissioning.
• Experience reading and interpreting HVAC plans, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer installation manuals.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities to oversee installation crews, delegate tasks, and mentor junior technicians.
• Commitment to clean work practices, job site safety, and adherence to local codes and regulations.

• Physical ability to perform field work, including lifting equipment, working on ladders, and operating power tools safely.
