Job summary

Vi at The Glen is seeking a Lead Driver to transport residents to appointments and outings using community vehicles, ensuring residents receive all necessary assistance during outings. The role also involves supporting scheduling, recordkeeping and training with the Lifestyle Director.

The position requires a minimum of 6 months’ driving experience, a valid license for the vehicle class, and a willingness to obtain CDL. CPR and First Aid certifications are required or must be obtainable.

Qualifications

• 6 months minimum experience as a bus/van driver.
• Valid and current driver's license for vehicle class driven.
• Willingness to obtain CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
• CPR and First Aid certifications required or willingness to become certified.

Responsibilities

Lead Driver
The Driver is responsible for transporting residents to and from appointments and outings using the community vehicles; which may include bus, van, limousine, sedan and trams. This position ensures residents receive all appropriate assistance during outings. Driver fulfills all operational tasks involving driving and assists the Lifestyle Director with scheduling, recordkeeping and training.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants are required to possess a minimum of 6 months experience as a bus/van driver. Must possess a valid and current driver's license for vehicle class driven at time of hire. Must be willing to obtain CDL (Commercial Driver's License). Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required or must be willing and able to become CPR and First Aid certified.

Additional Requirements Include

• Must possess and maintain a clean DMV driving record.
• Knowledge of the surrounding neighborhood area.
• Excellent communication skills, patience and the ability to deal with stress and the needs of older adults.
• Ability to use a client and customer- focused approach to problem solving and goal setting.
• Must be sensitive to the needs of older adults and enjoy working with senior population.

Pay Range

USD $22.45 - USD $27.49 /Hr.
