Job summary

Mammoth Energy in Moore, OK is seeking an experienced Directional Driller to safely and efficiently perform horizontal directional drilling for underground utility installations, supervising a small crew and maintaining quality, production, and safety. CDL strongly preferred.

Travel up to 50% at times is required. The role requires reading bore profiles, locating utilities, potholing, and monitoring drilling data while coordinating with foremen and clients to provide daily progress updates.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating directional drilling equipment in utility environments.
• Strong locating proficiency and ability to interpret locating readings.
• Ability to read prints, bore profiles, and utility maps; comfortable with basic field math.
• Supervisory/lead capability for directing crew tasks and maintaining standards.
• Solid safety knowledge and adherence to procedures (OSHA/industry best practices).
• Able to work outdoors in varying conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate directional drilling equipment to install conduit/duct, innerduct, pipe, or cable per project plans and specifications.
• Read bore profiles, locate sheets, prints/as-builts, and utility maps; identify clearances before drilling.
• Perform potholing/daylighting and verify utility locations prior to bore.
• Locate and track drill head and maintain safe offsets from utilities.
• Lead crew members to ensure safe, efficient operations and clean job sites.
• Complete required paperwork: daily reports, bore logs, and equipment checklists.
