Job summary

Miami University Libraries seeks a Digital Collections Librarian to lead its digitized and born-digital special collections and share responsibility for digital preservation.

Reporting to the Head of Special Collections & Archives, the librarian will develop sustainable practices for managing digital materials through their lifecycle—from selection and rights review to digitization, preservation, discovery, and use.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution by date of appointment.
• Education or experience related to digital collections, digitization, born-digital materials, or digital preservation.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, implementation, and assessment of digitized and born-digital collections projects.
• Develop sustainable workflows for digitization, preservation, and discovery of digital materials.
• Establish policies and procedures for born-digital materials and web archives.
• Collaborate with staff and partners to promote access and engagement with digital collections.
