Job summary

XPO Logistics seeks a Lead Technician in Glenpool, OK to supervise shop personnel, manage parts and training, and perform routine maintenance on diesel equipment and trailers. You will ensure high standards of safety and compliance while coordinating with the team across shift schedules.

The role requires significant mechanical experience, qualifications in brake/vehicle inspections, EPA refrigerant cert, and willingness to obtain additional certifications.

Qualifications

• 4 years related work experience or military experience.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Brake inspection qualified as defined by FMCSA 396.25.
• Vehicle inspection qualified as defined by FMCSA 396.19.
• EPA HVAC refrigerant recovery/recycling certification within 90 days of hire (ASE, MACS or equivalent).
• Prior mechanical experience in the automotive/trades field.
• Able to work a variety of shifts (days/evenings/nights/weekends).
• 3 years of hands-on fleet technician experience (preferred).
• Tractor and trailer experience (preferred).
• Forklift repair knowledge (preferred).
• ASE Master MD/HD truck certification (preferred).
• Basic welding skills (Oxy/Acetylene, MIG, ARC) (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Schedule and supervise shop personnel.
• Order parts and manage vendors.
• Ensure technicians receive necessary training.
• Perform routine maintenance on class 7 and 8 diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing equipment.
• Inspect and work on vehicles and trailers in compliance with schedules.
• Follow DOT, EPA, Interstate Authority and OSHA rules and lead team to do the same.
• Repair or rebuild parts of equipment systems.
• Move trailers around the property.
• Operate a hostler in various weather and conditions.

What you’ll need to succeed as a Lead Technician at XPO

Pay, benefits and more:

• Experienced Technicians can earn $41.11/ hour including Master Certification and shift differential.
• Afternoon Shift, 1:30PM-11:00PM

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Schedule and supervise shop personnel
• Order parts and manage vendors
• Ensure technicians receive the required training
• Perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on all types of class 7 and 8 diesel equipment, forklifts and trailing equipment in compliance with the manufacturer’s and company’s schedules
• Safely access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance, including inspecting and performing work in, on or under parts of vehicles and trailers
• Apply knowledge of and work by the Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Interstate Authority and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); follow all rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and lead your team to do the same
• Repair or rebuild all or parts of various equipment systems
• Move trailers throughout the property
• Operate a hostler in all types of weather; safely walk and stand for extended periods

Lead Technicians are required to:

• Lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights frequently up to 50 lbs. And occasionally greater than 75 lbs.
• Safely walk and stand for extended periods on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery, including working outdoors in inclement weather
• Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
