Job summary

Stand Together in Arlington, VA is seeking a Deputy Editor to lead Development Communications for its grassroots brands, including Americans for Prosperity, The LIBRE Initiative, Concerned Veterans for America, and related efforts. You will oversee the editorial calendar, workflows, review cycles, deadlines, approvals, and handoffs.

The ideal candidate brings strong editing judgment, people management, and comfort with complex workflows, collaborating with Marketing, Fundraising Strategy,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of editing, writing, or content strategy with direct people-management experience.
• Strong editorial judgment to improve structure, tone, accuracy and audience relevance.
• Experience managing complex editorial calendars and cross-functional content projects.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills to translate policy into donor-facing content.
• Stakeholder-management skills and alignment with Stand Together’s values.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage a team of writers focused on Development Communications.
• Lead editorial workflow and process improvements for intake, prioritization, assignments, reviews, approvals, deadlines, and handoffs.
• Edit, shape, and occasionally write donor-facing content (emails, proposals, decks, memos).
• Own the content calendar for grassroots partners and initiatives.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Fundraising Strategy, Policy, Legal/Compliance, Creative, and Grassroots teams.
