Job summary

Cust-O-Fab is seeking a Design Engineer to lead production engineering efforts for assigned projects. You will act as the technical focal point for clients, review specifications, and convert them into design and fabrication drawings.

The role requires a BS in Engineering (or equivalent), and experience with design software and cross-functional teams. Primary duties include design calculations, BOM preparation, and ensuring drawings meet fabrication standards.

Qualifications

Engineering or related degree or equivalent experience.
Experience with ASME VIII Div. 1 design knowledge preferred but not required.
Proficiency with common design tools and software is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for assigned projects and act as primary design lead.
Review project specifications and translate into fabrication drawings.
Coordinate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Welding, and Project Management.
Perform design calculations and validate drawings for production.
Create pre-BOMs for long-lead materials and manage documentation.
Support Purchasing and Manufacturing with technical questions.
Maintain organized electronic records for jobs.
