Job summary

Morton Dental Group in Gallatin, TN is seeking a Lead Registered Dental Assistant to guide our dental assistant team, support clinicians, and uphold top-tier patient care in a fast-paced, modern practice.

You’ll mentor staff, improve workflows, participate in morning huddles, ensure sterilization and safety standards, and partner with office leadership to elevate clinical excellence and patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification/licensure required by state regulations.
• Current X-ray certification required.
• Leadership, mentoring, or training experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of clinical workflows, sterilization, and operatory organization.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Experience with dental software such as CareStack is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example in delivering high-quality four-handed dentistry across restorative, cosmetic, implant, surgical, and specialty procedures.
• Prepare and break down operatories according to scheduled procedures.
• Set up surgical trays, maintain sterile fields, and anticipate Dentist needs during procedures.
• Assist with digital workflows, radiographs, intraoral scanning, and imaging technology.
• Maintain organized, stocked, clean operatories and ensure readiness.
• Support smooth patient flow and minimize downtime between appointments.
• Ensure OSHA, HIPAA, sterilization, and infection control compliance.
• Maintain accurate charting, treatment documentation, and clinical records.
• Assist with lab cases, implant parts, impressions, temporaries, and specialty materials.
• Perform schedule audits to ensure implants and lab components are prepared.
• Monitor inventory and procurement within budget.
• Review supply invoices and identify inefficiencies.
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance and track issues.
• Participate in Morning Huddle to review schedules and priorities.
