The Lead Delivery Driver position is based in Claremont, NC.
This role offers exciting opportunities to:
- Operate and drive a straight truck
- Provide "White Glove Service" to project a professional company image
- Unload furniture at customer locations, including homes and offices, upstairs or downstairs
- Assemble furniture as needed, such as attaching mirrors, bed slats, or wall hangings, following safety guidelines
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers
- Perform minor furniture repairs during unloading or in customers' homes
- Inspect vehicle for safety and performance
- Inventory tools, supplies, and repair kits
- Complete documentation like driver logs and delivery receipts
- Handle returns and pickups daily before new deliveries
- Submit all delivery and vehicle inspection documents with explanations
- Provide feedback and report issues requiring corrective actions
- Train colleagues on daily tasks when needed
Qualifications we seek in candidates include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of driver training or equivalent experience
- Experience with furniture or household goods preferred; training available
- Understanding of proper lifting techniques; training provided
- Experience driving a 26’ box truck or holding CDL B/A preferred
- Good driving record
- Knowledge of highways, map reading, and navigation
- Effective communication and professionalism
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Honesty and pride in work
- Ability to lift heavy furniture with a partner
- Good attendance and team player attitude

- Walking, standing, bending, lifting, sitting
