Job summary

Lead Service Technician

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Compensation: $33.50 — $37.00/hour

Position Overview

The Lead Service Technician is responsible for overseeing field service activities including maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical and power‑related systems. This role combines advanced technical troubleshooting with team leadership, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support field technicians in performing maintenance, repairs, and installations on electrical and power systems
  • Diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues across a variety of systems and components
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members
  • Coordinate service work with internal teams, customers, and project stakeholders
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and quality expectations
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, reports, and equipment records
  • Order and manage parts, tools, and materials needed for service work
  • Support customer interactions by explaining technical issues and solutions clearly
  • Assist with technical input during customer meetings or project planning
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation for emergency service needs
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience servicing electrical or power systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and control systems
  • Experience working with backup power, battery systems, or similar equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Proven ability to lead or mentor other technicians in the field
  • Strong communication skills with both customers and internal teams
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass required background and screening processes
Preferred Background
  • Technical certification or Associate’s degree in electrical or related field
  • Experience in critical power environments, industrial systems, or similar settings
  • Familiarity with inverters, control systems, and battery technologies
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs independently and heavier loads with assistance
  • Comfortable working in a variety of environments including industrial sites and outdoor settings
  • Ability to climb ladders, work in tight spaces, and remain on your feet for extended periods
  • Strong manual dexterity for hands‑on technical work
