Job summary

Blue Star in Washington, D.C. is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to own ground-up residential projects from pre-construction through completion. This onsite, full-time role requires leadership of schedules, budgets, permitting, inspections, and client coordination.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience managing complex residential builds in DC, a strong grasp of local permitting, and a proven track record delivering high-end homes with accountability and precision.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven experience managing multiple ground-up residential construction complex projects
  • Direct experience with DC permitting, zoning codes, and inspections
  • Demonstrated track record managing project budgets and schedules for complex residential builds
  • Strong technical knowledge of residential construction from start to finish
  • Experience operating as the lead Project Manager with full project ownership

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle residential construction projects from planning through completion
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets
  • Coordinate pre-construction planning, permitting, and approvals
  • Lead day-to-day execution, ensuring quality, timeline, and cost control
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field teams with clear accountability
  • Conduct and lead inspections with DC authorities and ensure compliance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project
  • Proactively identify and resolve risks, delays, and budget impacts
