Job Purpose

To join a team committed to Student Greatness. As a Lead Custodian, you will ensure facilities are clean, safe, and well maintained, assisting shift custodians and providing on-the-job training.

How You Will Impact Education

  • Ensure custodians perform their duties effectively.
  • Inspect quality of cleaning work.
  • Report on service quality to supervisors.
  • Assist with payroll and HR issues.
  • Clean assigned areas including interior and exterior spaces.
  • Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, cafeterias, and high-use areas.
  • Assist with cleaning projects and participate in training.
  • Travel to nearby schools or warehouses as needed.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of janitorial trades, supplies, and chemicals.
  • Understanding of OSHA and building codes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tracking programs.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting and standing.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional construction or facilities education preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years janitorial experience.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks required by the role.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Work primarily in school environments, with physical activities including climbing ladders, lifting up to 75 pounds, and standing for extended periods.
