Vantor Inc. in Herndon, VA is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to design and oversee an advanced analytics capability supporting pattern recognition, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics for a UTS environment.

This role leads the technical vision, guides ML development, and mentors staff while collaborating with engineers and mission partners to deliver scalable data science and data engineering workflows. Applicants must be a U.S.

Qualifications

• US Citizen with active TS/SCI clearance, CI Poly preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant experience at senior level.
• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Strong coding proficiency in Python and SQL, production-quality, maintainable code; R knowledge a plus.
• Hands-on experience with ML libraries and automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical execution of the analytics program with vision and leadership for roadmap.
• Define overall AI/ML architecture and feature engineering strategy.
• Guide supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning development.
• Direct graph analytics and causal inference activities.
• Oversee validation methodology and documentation; mentor staff.
• Present findings to Government leadership; support transition to operations.
