Job summary

Starbucks Coffee Company is seeking a Lead Data Scientist for Retail Testing Analytics to design scalable testing and measurement frameworks and to drive data-driven decision-making across Store Development, Retail Operations, and Marketing. Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in Data Science with end-to-end analytical products or data science solutions.
• Deep expertise in statistics, causal inference, experimental design, and advanced analytics.
• Strong programming and software development skills including Python, SQL, and cloud-based analytics (Databricks, Azure).
• Experience designing and operationalizing experimentation, testing, measurement and causal inference platforms.
• Exceptional communication and data storytelling abilities for senior stakeholders.
• Experience building and operationalizing enterprise-scale analytical systems.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience.
• Experience partnering with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to influence strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance scalable, production-grade testing and measurement frameworks across business domains.
• Develop and integrate advanced statistical methodologies, causal inference, optimization, and ML models.
• Lead evaluation of strategic initiatives with cross-functional teams to quantify impact.
• Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor Data and Decision Scientists in analytics, methodology, and storytelling.
• Drive technical excellence and a culture of innovation and rigor across the team.
