Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead data science initiatives that boost profitability, efficiency, and customer experience. You will guide analytics infrastructure and mentor a team of data scientists on high-impact projects.

You will drive replicable data solutions, collaborate with IT and business leaders, and push the boundaries of prescriptive modeling like optimization, computer vision, and NLP.

Qualifications

• PhD in a quantitative field or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience in business intelligence and analytics.
• Expertise in Python and SQL (Google BigQuery preferred).
• Advanced knowledge of Tableau & data visualization.
• Prescriptive modeling like optimization, computer vision, recommendations, search or NLP.
• Demonstrated mastery in predictive modeling, data mining and statistics.

Responsibilities

• Lead large data science projects and develop advanced algorithms for business insights.
• Mentor and coach junior data scientists and support team growth.
• Collaborate with business partners to translate analytics into actionable decisions.
• Explore cutting-edge methods and contribute IP via publications, talks, and conferences.
