Job summary

Strava is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Data Products team in San Francisco, turning athlete data into reliable datasets powering user experiences at scale. You will work with ML Engineers to drive measurement and evaluation standards.

You’ll define what good looks like for internal models, own experimentation, and monitor production models to drive high-impact product decisions. This role follows a flexible hybrid model with on-site presence in SF three days a week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data science or related quantitative work with production models.
• Experience defining evaluation frameworks and validation strategies.
• Strong SQL and production-quality Python skills.
• Fluency in metrics for consumer software and collaboration with partners.

Responsibilities

• Define what 'good' looks like for internal models and ML products.
• Build the measurement layer for cross-domain ML products and monitor performance.
• Own experimentation and monitoring for production models and drift detection.
• Identify AI/ML product opportunities with clear success criteria.
• Serve as the data science domain expert across ML engineers and partners.
