Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Scientist with 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, statistical modeling, and advanced analytics. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, drive data-driven solutions, mentor data scientists, and work closely with business and engineering teams to deliver impactful analytics and machine learning initiatives.

Candidates currently based in New Jersey are preferred. Candidates who are open to relocating to New Jersey will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning and data science solutions.
• Translate complex business problems into data-driven analytical solutions.
• Develop predictive models, statistical models, and machine learning algorithms.
• Lead end-to-end data science projects from problem definition through production deployment.
• Partner with engineering, product, business, and analytics teams to define requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data scientists and analysts.
• Evaluate and implement appropriate machine learning techniques and statistical methodologies.
• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Establish best practices for model development, validation, monitoring, and documentation.
• Communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay current with emerging developments in AI, machine learning, generative AI, and data science.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Advanced Analytics, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or R.
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics.
• Experience working with large datasets and modern data platforms.
• Experience with SQL and data manipulation/analysis.
• Hands-on experience taking machine learning models from development to production.
• Strong understanding of model evaluation, validation, and performance optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Previous experience leading projects or mentoring data science teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with ML platforms, MLOps, and model deployment.
• Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, NLP, or deep learning.
• Experience with Spark, Databricks, or similar big-data technologies.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
