Job summary

The University of Miami's UHealth Department of Informatics and Health Data Science is seeking a full-time Manager, Data Science in Miami, FL. The role supports the Department Chair in coordinating data science initiatives across the department and MIL, applying advanced analytics, AI, ML, and predictive modeling to support strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Operational management and process optimization experience.
• Organizational development and change-management capabilities.
• Knowledge of budgeting and financial oversight.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools and office software.
• Ability to translate complex questions into data science projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead data science initiatives across DIHDS and MIL.
• Coordinate across chair, investigators, engineers, and teams.
• Develop and implement large-scale data strategies and analytics.
• Manage data science personnel, budgets, and staffing.
• Ensure compliance with policies and secure data governance.
• Develop workflows, dashboards, and reporting systems.
• Evaluate models for accuracy, fairness, and impact.
