Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to guide the design and modernization of our enterprise data platforms. This remote role emphasizes cloud-based solutions using AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Python, and SQL, with mentorship of the data team and collaboration across stakeholders.

You will build scalable data warehouses and pipelines, establish data quality and governance practices, and drive engineering excellence within the Data Platform Engineering Organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years in Data Engineering or related fields.
• Alternate: High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years in data engineering domains.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise data solutions utilizing AWS Services, Snowflake, dbt, Python, SQL, and related cloud technologies.
• Develop and support data warehouses, ODS, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Design batch and real-time data processing solutions using modern streaming architectures.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Define data quality strategies, testing standards, governance practices, and compliance controls.
• Establish deployment strategies, environment promotion, and release governance for data platforms.
